About Us - Our Values
Learning and communicating the needs of the whole of Europe, the EU and other European institutions
We each have a different national and personal viewpoint of European issues, often shaped by our national culture, media and other sources of information. We aim to share up-to-date, accurate information, to dispel myths, and to discuss differences openly, always endeavouring to hear what God is saying about any particular issue.
Observing trends within Europe and mobilising prayer accordingly
With representatives from across Europe, we try to build a fuller picture of what is happening in Europe than our national media may give us. We also have the opportunity to learn about developments in other parts of Europe which we would not normally hear about. We do this, not
only in our plenary sessions but also as we share time together personally.

We are friends!
We have become friends through meeting together regularly to pray. Some of us have been attending for over ten years! We like to understand and support each other in a spirit of family, maintaining good personal relationships so that we can pray more effectively together and for each
other.
Building unity across Europe to help accomplish God’s purposes for the continent
We are Christians from many European countries, all committed to pray together for God’s purposes in Europe. This unity has given us a certain level of authority in prayer which we value deeply.
Of course we do have differences of culture or viewpoint, but we aim to promote unity in the body of Christ in Europe, not shying away from the difficult issues, but providing an environment where differences can be examined and discussed. Preconceptions and prejudices must not get in the way of brotherly fellowship and understanding.
Covering Europe with prayer
As we invite new members to our family of prayer, we aim to have brothers and sisters in all the countries of Europe with whom we can share information and prayer needs so as to cover Europe with informed and passionate prayer. This combines well with our sister-ministry, ‘Canopy of Prayer
over Europe’, which is a regular prayer letter for Europe for those who commit to praying 15 minutes a week for Europe.
Our Background
Over the decades, there were many prayer conferences and initiatives to bring people together to pray for Europe and each one made a valuable contribution. Then in 2006, a group of prayer leaders met together to explore ways of initiating something more ongoing and permanent. They desired a prayer movement made up of people who would commit to meeting together regularly, to get to know each other and each other’s country, to pray for each other, to seek the Lord together as Europeans and to pray into those issues which are affecting the nations of Europe.
From that initial meeting developed the European Union of Prayer, a family of national prayer network leaders, prayer house leaders, parliament prayer group leaders, and intercessors for Europe. Together we travelled to the capital city of each country which in turn held the rotating 6-month presidency of the Council of the EU. This of course means that we met twice a year. We did not, however, limit membership to those who came from the EU member states, but welcomed all who are resident in Europe. In fact, we would love to have members from every nation in the continent of Europe.
Over the years we grew into a real family, getting to know and love one another and developing a better understanding of each other’s national culture and views. However, our aim was always to come together first and foremost as citizens of the Kingdom of God, to worship and pray together and to seek God’s wisdom as we face the many challenges and opportunities facing our continent. Meeting faithfully year after year, and maintaining love and unity as people from different countries, gave us an authority in prayer.
By 2020, we had met in every EU country and believed that God was saying it was now time to meet in the other countries of Europe. So we re-launched our movement as Europeans United in Prayer and have now also met in the United Kingdom (London), the Republic of North Macedonia (Skopje), Switzerland (Andermatt) and Albania (Tirana). Looking forward, we now believe we should be flexible and ask God each time, which country He wants us to go to. We are not despairing at the problems facing Europe, but are trusting that God is using the shakings to open the eyes of Europeans to see Jesus. And we want to be available to Him for wherever He wants to send us to pray!
